Be aware of any buried utility lines before digging. Lines may not always be marked so do your research before digging to avoid plumbing, electrical, natural gas, sprinkler systems, geothermal lines, or other obstacles. Repairing broken lines may be difficult and expensive so avoid them when possible. It is also important to follow local digging protocols while excavating.
