Step 18: Pour the Walls and Floor
When pouring concrete for a pool, follow the standard ICF pouring guidelines.
Start by filling the walls. Depending on the height of the walls, it is typically advisable to pour in lifts.
Work in a continuous direction around the structure pouring the wall 4 feet at a time. Before pouring, it is also advisable to cut holes in the bottom of the wall to allow concrete to flow from the wall, into the floor.
Since you will pour the floor after completing the walls, these penetrations allow for the floor and wall to be connected without a cold joint.
After pouring your walls, finish by pouring your floor. We recommend adding a chalk line at the bottom of your wall to mark the top of the floor. This chalk line will give you a good marker and ensure that you pour the floor to the proper thickness. Use a trowel to screed the top of the wall smooth. Use a float with a trowel attached to smooth out the floor.
