ICF Pool Construction in 30 Steps
What’s Inside?
Welcome to the ICF Pool Construction in 30 Steps Training Course. This course is intended to be an abbreviated walkthrough of the ICF pool building process. While this course does not go into the fine details associated with ICF pool building, it does give a broad overview of the steps required to successfully build an ICF pool. The examples in this course show a rectangle Fastlane exercise pool but the principals apply to most any pool regardless of design. After completion of this course, students should have a general understanding of how ICF swimming pools are prepped, formed, and finished.
Why ICFs?
Insulating Concrete Form Swimming Pools are growing in popularity. ICFs are one of the most versatile building materials on the market and homeowners are being drawn to the many benefits that an ICF pool can provide.
- Reduce energy costs by 60%.
- Prevents more than 80% of the heat loss from the pool.
- Easily extend your pool season.
- Simple to build with, construction time is cut in half.
- Any design is possible with curved radius forms and blocks that are easy to adjust.
- ICF pools require less material and skilled labor and can be built with little to no waste.
Many of the principles and techniques of traditional ICF construction apply to pool construction. Think of an ICF pool in the same way that you would an ICF basement, except you are going to keep water on the inside instead of the outside.
