The fourth possible outcome is True Slump. This is what we’re looking for! True Slump is when the concrete collapses smoothly in all directions. This is the only slump that can be accurately measured. The next step is to place the tamping rod on top of the mold cone and measure the distance between the rod and the top of the collapsed concrete.

Step 20: True Slump - This occurs when the concrete collapses smoothly in all directions. This is the only slump that can be measured. The distance beween the top fo the cone and the top of the concrete after the cone has been removed is the slump of the concrete.
