Verify Concrete Needs

1. Verify that the correct concrete amount and the proper mix was ordered.

  • It is often advisable to let the mix plant know that the order is for an ICF pour.

2. Inform plant that you will be testing slump for each pour.

3. Slump concrete for each truck as it arrives to verify mix and prevent problems.

  • Typical Mix is a 3000 PSI Concrete with 3/8” Chip Mix at a 5-1/2 to 6” slump out of the pump.
  • Too wet a mix causes too much pressure on the ICF forms, too dry a mix won’t pump or consolidate.
