Understanding Labor Overview

In this section, we discuss basic labor calculations, the leadership of crews, skilled and non-skilled labor usage, job site efficiency, and planning.

When building with ICF’s you’ll need team members to do a variety of jobs.

As work begins team members will:

  1. Stage material
  2. Stack ICFs
  3. Place rebar reinforcement
  4. Install flooring systems

As the walls go up, the crew will:

  1. Create and buck openings
  2. Erect bracing and alignment systems
  3. Create and install embedments

Lastly, you’ll need people to:

  1. Align walls
  2. Pour and consolidate concrete
  3. Clean the jobsite
  4. Help with the loadout

It’s important to have at least one person on your site with ICF construction experience, but with a little guidance, almost anyone can build with BuildBlock ICFs. Assembling an effective crew is essential to any project. Most residential jobs can be done with 3-5 people while commercial jobs may require more depending on the size of the project.
