Basic ICF Installation Safety First Safety Code Compliance

Safety Code Compliance

Just as working with traditional construction materials, safety should be a top priority when building with ICFs. Familiarize yourself with all safety codes that apply to your project before beginning construction. Safety codes and best practices will lead to a more comfortable work environment as well as a safer, more efficient build.
Current North America Codes, Certifications. and Testing.

Be cognizant of safety codes when working on elevated surfaces. Check all OSHA Requirements as well as state specific guidelines.

Understand the bracing requirements of your project before stacking walls. Braces are typically placed every 4 to 6 feet to align the wall during and after the pour.

  1. Check for specific guard rail requirements.
  2. Ensure that the area around bracing is free of debris and all hazards.

Be familiar with your sites soil load bearing capacities as well as any regional seismic considerations. These potential forces should inform your bracing and reinforcement schedule. As with every other step in the construction process, check both national and local codes for safety requirements and best practices.
