Basic ICF Installation Safety First Jobsite Organization

Jobsite Organization

It’s important to keep a clean and organized job site. Set aside areas for tools and materials to be stored as well as specific locations to dispose of waste. Keeping the work area clean will ultimately lead to fewer hazards.

Communicating with the team is also easier when the jobsite is organized. Use the face to the ICF to write directions, special cuts, and instructions. These could include center lines of windows or doors, special measurements, or the edge of openings or measurements from the corner to the center of an opening.

Design the job site layout with safe and easy access for workers and materials. When staging materials for your jobsite, only stage the materials you need. For example, if you’re stacking part of a basement before pouring a floor, only stage the materials you need at that time.

If building a multi-story project, stage the bracing, rebar, and block needed for that floor. Once the floor system is in place, then stage the next set of materials.

Proper ladders or ramps will make staging and accessing materials simple and quick. When the site is well organized, workers waste less time searching for the tools and materials they need. All of these practices come together to help prevent costly and time-consuming mistakes.
